Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? At little infinite, we’re celebrating by offering up a collection of journal prompts with an emphasis on positivity and self-care. Established in 1949 by Mental Health America, this month-long observance was created to raise awareness about mental health conditions and the importance of cultivating emotional wellness. This year’s theme is More Good Days, Together. It encourages us to reflect on what a good day looks like, both for ourselves and for our communities. Together, we can be there for one another and connect with others who need help or can offer the support we need in the moment. Our Mental Health Epidemic While we’re putting the spotlight on mental well-being this month, it’s a priority that deserves our attention all year. Today, the most prevalent mental health concerns include depression, anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress. These are widespread challenges that deserve compassion, empathy and our collective care. Adolescents and young adults between the ages of 12 and 25 are affected disproportionately — with more than one in three dealing with depression, anxiety and serious mental health concerns.
