Cozy Season is finally here! Time to cuddle up with a romance read for fall.
Nothing says fall like the cooling temperatures, colorful leaves, and warm sweaters. And nothing says the perfect fall day than curling up on the couch with a romance novel. Whether it’s a story about fake relationships, romantically charged competitions, or fated mates, these fall romances showcase the best parts of the season on every page.
Ahead, a few books that scream autumn: A young adult novel full of spooky vibes and a classic fall read with no shortage of witchy spells. Two romances that will warm your heart over bowls of pho or cups of tea. And we couldn’t miss the classic “city person falls in love in a small town” books to get you ready for the holiday season.
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling
What happens when a witch gets dumped? Well, she casts a hex, of course. Just in time for Halloween season, The Ex Hex hits just the right blend of spooky and silly that you want in a fun fall romance novel.
Vivienne Jones made a mistake nine years ago. After a night of vodka, weepy music, and a bubble bath, she decided that the only way to get over her broken heart was to curse her ex. While Vivi knew that she shouldn’t use her magic for curses, it probably wasn’t going to work anyway. After all, all she did was light her “orchard hayride” scented candle. Turns out she was wrong.
Rhys Penhallow has returned to Graves Glen Georgia and the hex rears its ugly head. What should have been a quick trip home to recharge a few lay lines has suddenly turned into a mess. An angry ghost arrives. A group of toys turns murderous. Now, despite their history and intense chemistry, Vivi and Rhys need to work together to save the town.
Practical Magic, by Alice Hoffman
Every fan of the fall has likely seen Practical Magic starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. This is the book that inspired the cult classic and it’s filled with even more magic and romance. Naturally, it is a perfect love story for the season.
The Owens family has always been blamed for the problems in their Massachusetts town. They have always been outsiders, talked about behind their backs, called witches. For hundreds of years, every Owens sister has suffered the same – including Gillian and Sally.
As children, Gillian and Sally were mocked when all they ever wanted was to fit in. Of course, it didn’t help that their aunts liked to encourage whispers of witchery at those who mocked them. But after years of living as outsiders, Gillian and Sally just want to escape it all. One sister will escape by simply running away, while the other escapes through marriage. However, like the sisters before them, Gillian and Sally will be brought back together, like magic.
