Short, Winter Poems for Long, Cold Nights

2 minute read

Despite the feather-light snow falling, winter always arrives with an abundance of  emotions.

Holidays, memories, beginnings and endings, and the whisper of a new year all collide into one season, sending our hearts into a tailspin. For some of us, these cold months bring a loving warmth along. Between the sparkling lights and the shimmer of tradition in the air, this time of year is capable of softening even the hardest of hearts.

We’re looking at you, Mr Grinch.

Yet, a transformation of that size comes with its fair share of cold winter nights. I mean, isn’t that what every great hallmark movie is about?

Wherever you find yourself this winter season, know you are not alone. From haikus to classic sonnets, you’ve got a friend in poetry. Here are a few of our favorite short winter poems to keep you company during the long winter nights.

May joy and ease find you through these transitional days. Happy reading!
