This Romance is Literally a Pleasure

It's Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake
Reading Time: < 1 minute

It’s Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake  is pure fun, so much so that although I wanted to get to her happily-ever-after (HEA in romance novel speak), I was bummed to see the book end. Noni Blake is someone you want to be best friends with.

Noni is thirty-six, recently out of a long-term relationship, bored with her job and herself. Rather than a bucket list, Noni makes a “pleasure list” of all the things she would do if she focused solely on what she wants rather than on others’ expectations. Good idea, right?

She sets off to Europe on a six-month pleasure sabbatical; the location is driven mainly because of Molly, an old acquaintance, who is at the top of her “should have had sex with list.”

There is a lot of sex in this novel, but it doesn’t feel gratuitous, and much of it is downright hilarious. I also love that this is not a book about gay or straight or bisexual; it’s about being human and our need for connection with ourselves and others.

Mostly though? It’s Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake  is a treat you need to indulge in.
