Remember Me by Mary Balogh is a historical romance book that takes readers on a journey of rediscovery and redemption that will tug at the heartstrings and leave a lasting impression.
As the eldest daughter of an earl, Philippa is anticipating a glittering social debut that results in an advantageous marriage. But when her father is caught in a secret affair, the fortunes and future of the entire family is in ruin. The Duke of Wilby tasks his grandson with producing an heir before their family line ends entirely.
He thinks he has found an ideal candidate…until he recognizes her. Philippa, although technically eligible, is the one woman he can never marry. But what if she is the only woman that he wants? And what if she ever finds out the real reason that they can’t be together?
Can shattered dreams lead to true love?
As a lover of Regency romance books, I’m not ashamed to say that this one actually made me brought me to tears! The author has done an excellent job of creating characters that the readers just LOVE, and the latest installment of this series is a great read. I couldn’t help but root for Phillipa and Lucas as they worked to overcome the challenges keeping them apart, and even the ancillary characters have a lot to offer.
I especially loved that both main characters have caring families who are truly interested in their well-beings instead of just marrying them off to the first candidate that comes along. A family-centric storyline is definitely not typical in books of this type, so it was a refreshing angle, and the male characters often take accountability in a way that is truly special.
There is also a lovely subplot about the romantic love between the Duke and Duchess of Wilby that is absolutely heartwarming! Anyone who enjoys richly detailed historical romances can’t possibly go wrong with a Mary Balogh book.

Remember Me benefits from an incredibly charming cast. I genuinely liked Lucas and Pippa and their sprawling families and their quirks. Their courtship worked for me, as did the stirrings of lust and warmth in their marriage. – Lisa Fernandes
