Show Mom You Care With DIY Mother’s Day Cards

Easy DIY Mothers Day Poetry Cards

One of the easiest ways to show your mom how much you care is by taking a poem and turning it into a card. Choose a poem that resonates with you, and then print it out. Another great personal touch is calligraphy if you are confident in your handwriting.  You can use cardstock, printer paper, or even construction paper.

Once you have the poem printed/written out, fold the paper in half, cut the edges to make it look more asymmetrical, and decorate the card with your own design. Don’t know what to draw? Try abstract shapes or flowers.

If you want to take it a step further, try displaying the poem and card in a unique way.

For example, you can use a shadowbox or picture frame to showcase the poem. You can add different elements to the shadowbox, such as flowers or trinkets, to make it more personal. Try using design application so you don’t have to feel nervous creating your on template. Here is one that allows for a free use – canva.Easy DIY Mothers Day Poetry Cards

You can also laminate the card and turn it into a bookmark your mom can use whenever she reads a book.

Another way to present poetry as a gift is by making a DIY book. Write your own poems or pick out ones that resonate with you and arrange them in a booklet. You can mix and match different poems or choose a theme like love or happiness.

If you’re looking to take it up another notch, try making a video! Record yourself reading out your favorite poems and add in some pictures of you and your mom or of your favorite memories.
